“What Jesus Demands From The World” – Daily Devotional (6/07/10): Demand #6 “Listen To Me”

For today’s devotional, I’m gonna ask you to just read these verses below that show the preciousness of Jesus’ words and our need to listen to him.  Not just hear him…..but to listen….to take it in.  May God Bless you as you listen to Jesus.

Blessings,

Pastor Josh

Luke 10:38-42

38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

John 7:32, 45-46

32The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him…… 45Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring him in?”  46“No one ever spoke the way this man does,” the guards declared.

John 8:37

I know you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are ready to kill me, because you have no room for my word.

John 6:60-68

60On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”

61Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? 62What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! 63The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. 64Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. 65He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.”

66From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

67“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

68Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

John 5:24

I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

Mark 13:31

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Matthew 17:5

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
